ABOUT

A small, hard-working survey consulting firm based in Perth, Western Australia. Established in 1996 servicing the Oil and Gas Industry in South East Asia and Australia. In an effort to be more Western Australia based the company is now focussing on local surveying projects.
Alan Buchanan
Founder and Principal Surveyor

Alan is a proud Western Australian and traces his family tree back to the Kalgoorlie gold rush days and poineering in the Balingup/Bridgetown areas.

 

Alan started in the surveying business when he was fifteen, completing an Engineering Surveying Diploma at Bunbury Technical college. He then returned to complete a surveying degree at Curtin University as a mature age student in his early twenties. His career has covered all the survey disciplines (Mining, Cadastral, Geodetic, Construction, Engineering, Hydrographic, Photogrammetry and the Energy Industry) and taken him far and wide (Norway, India, Myanmar, Indonesia,Vietnam, Malaysia,Thailand and outback Australia.

 

In recent years has been contracted to Chevron as their survey specialist during the offshore construction of the Gorgon project.
